- The Viseu hub has a classifier with a barcode reader capable of scanning up to 3,500 shipments per hour.
Focusing on continuing to improve the service it offers to its customers, NACEX, Logista’s express parcel and document delivery company, has inaugurated a new hub in Viseu that will support its cross-docking operations in the Beira Alta, Beira Baixa and Trás os Montes area, thanks to its bar code reader sorter with a reading capacity of 3,500 shipments per hour.
The Viseu hub, built for NACEX, is in a 700 m2 warehouse. In addition to the classifier, with 1 goods in and 6 goods out sections, the facilities have 14 docking bays, suitable for trucks, box body vehicles, and final delivery vans. This all means greater operational capacity in the northern region of Portugal.
As part of its growth strategy, in October, NACEX also increased the sorting capacity of its hub in Porto, from 3,900 to 6,000 shipments per hour. The key was a new classification system with Linear Crossbelt technology and a colour scanner. The 2,150 m² hub has 4 goods in and 32 goods out sections, as well as an automatic recirculation system.
With these investments, NACEX strengthens its position in the market and underlines its commitment to innovation and continuous improvement. Currently, the company has a total of 35 hubs in Spain, Portugal, and Benelux.
